The orderly growth of Lake Success has been guided by the Planning Board appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Board of Trustees. This Board approves site plans, subdivision plans, and oversees the aesthetics of buildings that are erected in the Village, both residential and commercial.

The Board of Appeals, also appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Board of Trustees, acts in a semi-judicial capacity. It hears appeals of applications that have been denied by the building inspector or the Planning Board because they do not comply with our zoning ordinances.
