VILLAGE OF LAKE SUCCESS

POOL, TENNIS AND PARK FACILITIES
RULES AND REGULATIONS 2008

All residents who use the park, pool or tennis facilities either daily or seasonally must obtain a Recreational ID card at the Village Office.  No other ID will be accepted.

Residents and their guests must comply with ALL RULES stated herein and posted at the Park Facilities. Residents should be familiar with these rules.  The Recreation Director may amend rules, as required, for the safe and proper operation of the park facility.

 Pool and tennis privileges are restricted to Residents and their guests as described below.

Residents may have use of Pool and Tennis facility upon presenting a valid Lake Success Recreational ID card for entry into the Pool and Tennis areas during the 2008 season. No one will be permitted into the Lake Success pool area without their valid ID card.

GUEST CARD POLICY
A discount guest pass is offered only to the non-resident guests of annual members for $50 and is good for 10 guest visits. 

REFUNDS
No annual membership refunds will be issued after June 30.

RESIDENT NON-MEMBER DAILY PRIVILEGES
Residents may use tennis and pool facilities upon payment of prescribed fees and issuance of a wristband at the gate.  Residents who pay daily fees must present a Lake Success Recreational ID card for entry into pool or tennis area.  ID cards are available free of charge at the Village Office.

GUESTS   -   GUESTS MAY NOT BRING OTHER GUESTS.
Upon payment of prescribed fees and issuance of a wristband at the gate, guests of residents may be permitted the use of the pool and tennis facilities, if accompanied by a member of the resident host family.  All adult residents are entitled to guest privileges subject to the Rules and Regulations of the Park & Recreation Commission.  Only six guests per household will be permitted on any Saturday, Sunday, or Holiday.  If you plan on bringing a large group of guests to the pool on weekdays, let the Recreation Director know in advance.

FAMILY GUESTS - GUESTS MAY NOT BRING OTHER GUESTS.
Non-Resident adult children, grandchildren, grandparents, and parents of residents shall be classified as family guests. Upon payment of prescribed fees, family guests may be permitted the use of the pool and park facilities unaccompanied by a member of the resident host family on weekdays only. Please complete enclosed application.

MOTHERS' HELPER/AIDE POOL ID CARD
For an annual fee of $65.00, a card will be issued as follows: "Mother's Helper /Aide for the family of __________." The Mother's Helper/Aide must be accompanied by the children or a disabled person of the family. The Pool ID card is for Pool and Park facilities only.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
All residents wishing to use the facilities MUST have a Lake Success photo I.D. Residents should bring in or send their previous year's ID with their cards, applications and fees to the Village Office for 2008 pool validation sticker. New recreation cards will require digital type photos. The Village Office has an I.D. camera to take photos at the convenience of residents (residents may provide their own photos by e-mailing them to lsoffice@optonline.net along with the name and address of the person in photo). All resident applications must be completed in triplicate and signed by all members of family 8 years of age and older. Only residents 8 years of age and older will be required to possess ID cards. ID cards MUST be shown to gate attendant for admission to pool or tennis courts. Residents will not be permitted into facility without Recreation ID cards. The attendant will refuse entry to any person who does not have a Recreation ID card. Any attempt to tamper with the Recreation ID card issued by the Village will result in the ID card being withheld pending action by Park and Recreation Commission. There is a $5.00 fee for a replacement digital ID card.
REMINDER: RESIDENTS MAY OBTAIN PHOTOS FREE OF CHARGE AT VILLAGE OFFICE OR BY E-MAILING A PHOTO TO LSOFFICE@OPTONLINE.NET.

LOCKER FACILITIES
Lockers may be rented on a seasonal basis. A non-refundable fee of $10.00 is required for seasonal lockers. Daily locker use will require a deposit of $5.00 or an ID card. Keys may be obtained from gate attendants. A fee of $5.00 will be charged for lost keys. Children under the age of 8 will not be permitted to have a key. Availability of seasonal lockers shall be at the discretion of the Director.

The pool will open full schedule on Saturday, JUNE 28th, through Monday, SEPTEMBER 1st, LABOR DAY.

SWIM INSTRUCTION
Arrangements must be made with the Recreation Director for swim instruction. All instructors are Nassau County Certified lifeguards. The fee for each 1/2 hour lesson is $20.00. Consult bulletin board for additional information regarding instruction and other water activities


VILLAGE GREEN, POOL AND TENNIS RULES
The Recreation Director is in charge of the pool and all recreation areas. She is responsible for rule enforcement and is authorized to deny use of the facilities for a period of one day to anyone violating rules. She reports any violations which warrant further action to the Park and Recreation Commission. The Commission is empowered to enforce these rules by suspension of privileges or other appropriate means.

The following rules have been adopted by the Park and Recreation Commission with the approval of the Board of Trustees. Failure to comply may result in a hearing before the Grievance Committee of the Park Commission.

VILLAGE POOL

HYGIENE

***CHILDREN IN DIAPERS MUST WEAR FITTED PLASTIC PANTS OVER THE DIAPER WHEN IN THE LARGE POOL OR THE KIDDIE POOL.***

THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT REQUIRES ALL PERSONS TO SHOWER BEFORE ENTERING THE POOL.

SAFETY
Supervision is provided by the Recreation Director and lifeguards who have been instructed to enforce the Rules and Regulations.
Children, under the age of 8 years, can not be left without adult supervision within the pool area.
Children, under the age of 4 years, must be accompanied at all times in the playground area by an adult entitled to enter the pool area.
NO FLOTATION DEVICES ALLOWED IN LARGE POOL.
No glass containers of any kind are permitted within the locker building and/or the pool area.
No games of any kind, toys or athletic equipment or chairs are permitted within the pool apron area, other than those supplied by the Recreation Director or his staff.
Jumping and diving will not be permitted from the sides of the pool, except in designated areas.
No running, jumping or rough housing is permitted in the pool area.
Diving is permitted in designated areas only.
NO ROLLER BLADES OR SCOOTERS ARE PERMITTED IN POOL AREA.
SMOKING PERMITTED IN DESIGNATED AREA ONLY!


VILLAGE GREEN

The use of the Village Green facilities is restricted to residents and their guests when accompanied by Residents. Organized teams and leagues must file an application for approval with the Park Commission. 51% resident membership is required for host teams, except Little Leagues. Approval of the Park and Recreation Commission and the Board of Trustees is required.

Residents must provide proof of residency when requested.

The Village Green, unless otherwise specified, will be open from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM.

Hitting golf balls on the Village Green is prohibited. Playing football, soccer, cricket, softball or hardball is prohibited, except in the areas designated for that purpose. Baseball (hardball) is not permitted unless played under the auspices of Little League.

Barbecuing on the Village Green is prohibited.

Bicycle riding as to endanger pedestrians is prohibited. Bicycles, when not in use, must be placed in the racks provided.

TRAFFIC
No motor vehicle, including motorcycles, motor scooters and mopeds shall be permitted to park, stop or stand at any place in any area of the Village Green except in the designated parking areas. Maximum permitted speed is 10 MPH. Vehicles must be on paved areas at all times.


TENNIS

The use of the tennis courts is restricted to residents of the Village of Lake Success and their guests.

INSTRUCTION
Private lessons are provided by the Tennis Pro, Xavier Cedeno and are restricted to residents, who have paid daily fee or have obtained a seasonal membership. He can be reached on the courts or at (516) 982-9331. Fees are as follows and are payable to the Tennis Pro.

CONDITIONS PERMITTING, courts shall be open from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM.

All persons must wear tennis shoes and appropriate tennis attire. Shirts must be worn. No bathing suits.

A LIMIT OF ONLY (3) BALLS ARE PERMITTED ON  CLAY COURTS.

A resident is permitted up to 3 guest players on a court as long as the court is only used for 45 minutes of playing time.  Two residents wishing to bring more than one guest may play for 75 minutes.  A maximum of 4 people are permitted to play on a court at any given time.

SATURDAY, SUNDAY & HOLIDAYS, NO GUESTS OR JUNIORS BEFORE 11:00 A.M.  ALL OTHER DAYS, NO GUESTS BEFORE 10:00 AM.  ANY CATEGORY, 11:00 A.M. TO CLOSING.

Boys and girls will be designated as Seniors upon reaching their 17th birthday.

ORDER OF PLAY
*  The starter will assign Junior and Senior courts as needed.
*  Players are prohibited from play on any court unless the sign-in sheet indicates they are signed-in.
*  All players must be present at time of sign-in.
*  RESIDENT I.D. CARDS OR GUEST RECEIPTS SHALL BE SURRENDERED TO THE STARTER BEFORE ENTERING A COURT.
*  No player may sign-up for more than one court at a time.
*  No person may be assigned to another court while engaged in play.
*  No person may sign for more than 2 sessions in a day unless a court is immediately available at the time of play.
*  The honor system shall prevail when starter is not on duty and preceding rules shall prevail.  A sign-up sheet will be posted daily and all players must sign-in for the next available time.
*  Players not signed-in have no standing and can be bumped.
