Four-man teams and times by luck of the draw. Players
with a USGA Handicap Index of 14.4 or less play from Blue tees.
Permission to play from Gold tees may be granted to certain players by
the Tournament Committee. All players tee off and proceed to the best
tee shot - teams must use at least 3 tee shots by each player. All
players hit from the selected tee shot and then proceed to selected
second shot. Play continues in this fashion until the team holes out.
Ties will be decided by a match of cards from hole 1. Pro Shop
certificates awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. |

The first round of this year's
Governor's Cup will be held on May 15 and 16th. The field will be
divided into flights of 16 or fewer at the discretion of the tournament
marshal. The flights will be determined by your USGA handicap index as
of Wed. May 5 which is the date that entries close. Matches will be
posted at the Pro Shop on Saturday, May 8th and starting times will be
assigned by the tournament committee. You can enter by responding to
this email or by completing a tournament card at the pro shop.
Regardless of your flight, you and your opponent may elect to play your
match at a different time than that scheduled provided that you match is
completed on or before May 16th and that you first secure the consent of
the lead marshal and notify the golf course that you will not be playing
in your assigned time slot on the 15th or 16th. If you elect this option
you are responsible for obtaining your tee time. Each round will consist
of one 18-hole best ball match with the winner moving on the loser going
home. Please remember that if you are not available to play on the date
scheduled for any of the subsequent rounds you should not enter the
tournament. You can obtain these dates and more information about this
or any other tournament from the 2010 Yearbook which you should have
received, or will in the very near future receive. PLEASE REMEMEBR THAT
ALL ENTRIES MUST BE IN BY 5:00 PM ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 5, 2010.
Field divided into Flights of 16 or fewer, at discretion
of Tournament Marshal. Flights determined by index of entrants as of
Wednesday, May 5, the date that entries close. Seedings for all matches
in Flight will be determined by player’s index on sign up date. Lowest
16 will play in 1st Flight, next 16 in 2nd Flight, etc. Each round is
18-hole best ball match at 100% handicap differential between the
players. Matches will be posted May 8th. Starting times assigned by
Tournament Marshal for the first round (May 15 & 16) and Semi-Final and
Final Rounds (June 5 & June 6). Opponents in opening round matches may
agree to play their match on or before Sunday May 16th. The consent of
the lead marshal is required. |

Two Day, 36 Hole Event - Match Play

On the weekend of May 22 and May 23
we will be playing a match against Cold Spring Country Club. This a two
day event. You and your partner will play against the same team from
Cold Spring at home on one day and at Cold Spring the other. Each day
will consist of one best ball match with a total of 4 points at risk, 1
point for the front, 1 point for the back and two points for the
overall. The entry fee covers the cost of golf, breakfast, lunch and on
course snacks and refreshments. The comradery is priceless. An entry
form is attached. Please leave your completed entry form and check for
the entry fee at the Pro Shop.
Each two-man team plays home and away 18 hole best ball
matches over two days against the same opponents. Partners and matches
are in flight. Each match each day will be for four points, one for the
front, one for the back and two for overall. There are a total of 256
points at stake over the two days.

refreshments included. |

hit from the selected shot and then proceed to the best 2nd shot. Play
continues in this fashion until the team holes out. At least three tee

handicap purposes and team scoring, this is played as one 18-hole event.
If Player 1 handicap = 22 and Player 2 handicap = 18, 90% of team
handicap = 18 (average of handicaps) for entire 18 holes. Blue tees for
handicap Index of 14.4 or less. Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd low net and
1st & 2nd low gross. Scramble Rules: Holes 1 through 9, played at 90%
of average of both handicaps. Each player tees off and proceeds to the
best tee shot. Each player hits from the selected shot, then proceeds to
the best second shot. Play continues in this manner until team holes
out. At least three tee shots from each player must be used. Low net
score goes toward 18-hole total.
Pinehurst Rules: Holes 10 through 18, played at 90% of average of
both handicaps. On par 4 and 5 holes, each partner hits a tee shot.
Players hit partner’s ball, then select one as “team ball.” Players then
alternate shots until team ball is holed. On par 3’s, both players tee
off. Partners select one tee shot and then alternate shots until team
ball is holed. (Low Net Score). |

playing for Groups 1, 2 and 3 Championships. Qualifying rounds are
stroke play, subsequent rounds match play.
All groups will qualify eight.
Ties for last spots in qualifiers play sudden death. Match of cards as
recommended in the Rules of Golf, will be used for seeding purposes
only. Trophies awarded to low medalists by Group.

We invite all Members of the Men's and Women's Clubs to
participate in this fun day. Members may bring either a parent, child,
grandparent, or grandchild to compete in this event. Play is limited to
68 participants. Entries open August 1st and spots will be filled on a
first come, first served basis. Members are limited to one guest each.
Double tee times will not be permitted on this day.
On all holes, each partner hits a tee shot, then hits partner's ball.
One ball is then selected as the "team ball," and players hit alternate
shots until the ball is holed out. Maximum score is double par on any
hole.
Trophies will be awarded each to winners and runners-up for low gross
and Calloway.

Ryder Cup Format |

Two teams will be chosen by a random method, the number
on each team to be determined by total number of entries. You may pick
your own partner for the two days, or be assigned a partner. Partners
and matches are in flight.
Day 1-Holes 1-9: Four-ball - Two pairs (one from each team) compete in a
best-ball format. Each golfer plays his own ball and the better score of
the two counts for the team. One point is awarded for the winning team.
Day 1 - Holes 10-18: Foursomes - Teammates compete in an alternate shot
format. One player tees off on the odd numbered holes, the other on the
even, and they alternate shots until each hole is completed. One point
is awarded for the winning team.
Day 2- Singles Matches - Match competitions determined by handicap
index. The winner of each match scores a point for their team, with ½ a
point each for any match tied after 18 holes.
Play is at 100% of handicap. Players with handicap index of 14.4 or
lower, play from blue tees, all others from white tees.
Please note: Entries close Sunday, Sept. 26th. participate on either or
both days. Two teams will be made and posted by Friday, Oct. 1st.
Partners (for Day 1) should be chosen or will be assigned by Sunday Oct.
